Follow Along (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is run by the Follow Along team. This page explains what we collect on the website, what the Chrome extension keeps on your device, and how you can choose what happens with your data. Questions: [email protected].

What we collect

Your data and your choices

We may collect account and waitlist information, billing information (handled by Stripe), website usage data, and anything you send us through the website — other than the Excluded Data described below.

We use this information to run and improve Follow Along, to train and improve AI models, and to create aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you. We may sell or license that aggregated data. We may also share or sell personal information with partners (for example data, analytics or marketing partners), except for Excluded Data.

You can change your mind anytime. Use the form below, or email [email protected] with the subject “Opt out.” These choices also cover the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under US state privacy laws. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals (Sec-GPC: 1) as a request not to share or sell your personal information.

Your privacy choices

Extension capture and guides are already kept off limits for sale, sharing, ads and AI training — see Excluded Data below.

Excluded Data (what stays on your device)

Guide content is created and stored on your device. We do not receive it. Screenshots, recorded steps, page text, URLs, form inputs, browsing activity from a recording, the guides you create, and the install ID and license checks the extension sends are Excluded Data.

We never sell Excluded Data, never share or transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide the feature (for example confirming Pro) or to meet the law, never use it for advertising, and never use it to train AI models. If cloud share links launch later, shared guide content stays Excluded Data. Personal information of people who view a guide you export or share is also excluded from sale; only Aggregated Data may be derived from it.

When Follow Along is listed on the Chrome Web Store, our use of user data collected by the extension will follow the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use. We do not claim HIPAA, SOC 2, or any other certification.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including California and other US states), you may have the right to access, delete or correct personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, use the form above or email [email protected].

Guides on your device

Recording starts only after you click Start. You can redact screenshots before you export. Guides stay on your computer in this version. You share them by exporting HTML or PDF. Cloud share links are coming soon and are not live today.

How long we keep information

We keep waitlist, billing and license records while you use Follow Along and for a reasonable time afterward for legal, tax and security reasons. To delete website or account personal information we hold, email [email protected]. Guide files on your device are yours to remove — uninstall the extension or delete guides locally.

Who helps us run Follow Along

We use trusted providers for hosting, email and payments. Stripe processes payments. Separately, as described in Your data and your choices, we may share or sell certain personal information that is not Excluded Data, subject to your choices.

Children

Follow Along is for business and professional use and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new date above and, for material changes, notify account holders with one transactional email when practical. There are no paying users to notify as of this effective date.
